SUMMARY:Libby Mornement - Cyanotypes
DESCRIPTION:Libby Mornement is a self-taught Contemporary Cyanotype Artist.  Using the alchemy of the sun reacting with Iron solutions\, in one of the oldest photographic processes\, she produces prints in a palette of blue from its hints to its depths\, often shaped by a childhood by the sea.  Libby has work held in private collections worldwide\, and her work is included in several publications.  She is a featured artist for Alternative Photography.Com and recently filmed a cyanotype demonstration for the BBC.

SUMMARY:Libby - Cyanotypes
DESCRIPTION:The workshop begins with a guided demonstration of how to create a simple cyanotype photogram.  While that ‘cooks’ under the UV you will be learning how to prepare the solutions to make your own light sensitive paper.  Depending on conditions this might be used in the afternoon session or alternatively for you to take away for further practice at home.  \n\n\n\nOnce our initial photograms are magically revealed then fixed\, rinsed and hung you’ll be hooked! and there is now time to experiment with a huge selection of other resources creating mini blue-prints of your own.  \n\n\n\nThe afternoon session will involve some time to reflect and share on the morning’s results before you work on some bigger final pieces.  Participants can choose to produce this on fabric or paper.  The number you create will depend on your own pace and which element of the Cyanotype process has grabbed you most because throughout the workshop I will be introducing you to the many possibilities achievable with this fascinating process.  All resources are provided and there is no need to bring anything with you\, but if you already know anything about cyanotype and have things you think you would like to try then please do bring them along.

SUMMARY:Rachel Reynolds - Print to Product; A Textile Journey
DESCRIPTION:in which she will talk through her inspiration\, processes and stories behind a selection of her works from concept and development to finished pieces. \n\n\n\nRachel is a Hampshire based artist and printed textile designer creating original mixed media artworks alongside luxury textiles\, wallpaper\, homeware\, and stationery. Inspired by nature and architecture\, her work draws on the textures\, patterns\, and structures found in the British countryside\, and urban landscapes. She blends delicate drawings\, watercolours\, and linocut prints in her original artworks\, developing these into a carefully crafted range of bespoke designs for \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRachel holds an MA in Textile Design (Distinction) from Winchester School of Art. Her freelance practice includes public and private interior commissions and printed textile designs for the museum and heritage sector\, with a strong focus on responding to place\, history\, and environment. \n\n\n\nA qualified adult education tutor\, Rachel has extensive experience leading art and printed textile workshops for children and adults. She previously worked as Digital Textiles Technician at Winchester School of Art\, where she supported BA and MA Textile Design students and delivered workshops in hand printing\, fabric dyeing\, and digital print design.

SUMMARY:Rachel Reynolds - Two Colour Lino Cut
DESCRIPTION:Learn the basic principles and techniques of Lino printing. Using visual inspiration\, participants will design\, transfer and cut two Lino blocks using specialist tools. One block will form a simple background pattern\, with a second block used for the detailed foreground image. A series of experimental paper prints will be produced\, which can be developed into greeting cards and/or finished prints. Participants will take home their Lino cuts and completed prints.
