SUMMARY:Angie Hughes - Waterworld
DESCRIPTION:3 hour zoom workshop \n\n\n\n\n\nDuring this workshop you will look at the different types of soluble films available\, how they work and understand their uses. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBritish coastal flora will be the inspiration\, seaweed has a lot to offer when it comes to design and texture. See two images below. \n\n\n\nThere will be a discussion about artists such as Meredith Woolnough\, Jan Beaney\,  Maggie Grey and others who use soluble films to great effect in their work. \n\n\n\nAngie has described the format for this workshop\, as follows \n\n\n\nInitially\, after chats and hello’s\, students will be muted (though you can unmute to ask a question) \n\n\n\n·        There will be a series of filmed demonstrations with live commentary (filmed because the image is often clearer in screen sharing\, it also means that Angie can concentrate on talking and answering questions\, pausing etc.) \n\n\n\n·        Some slide shows during student time to entertain the ones that are only watching. \n\n\n\n·        Plenty of time for students to experiment and ask questions. \n\n\n\n·        A PDF handout with back up material will be sent out before the event. \n\n\n\n·        The Workshop can be recorded and saved on Zoom (password protected) students can download it to keep but it will be deleted after a month. \n\n\n\n·        When booking a place you will need to confirm if you are happy to be recorded during the workshop. \n\n\n\nIf you would like a place on this workshop\, please email Vernice on vernice_63@yahoo.co.uk \n\n\n\nThe cost for a place has yet to be determined as it depends upon the numbers booked\, but it is unlikely to be more than £30. The method of payment has yet to be confirmed.

SUMMARY:Polly Woolstone - My Journey with a Camera\, Sketchbook and Needle
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nPolly’s work has been inspired by both her physical and emotional journeys. Working in mixed-media textiles she has tried to capture what the places have meant to her- colours\, patterns\, detail and decay\, a sense of chaos or calm. Sometimes words and poems have helped her on my way and these have been incorporated into her work. \nNow based in Oxford\, my work reflects my travels – from country lanes in the UK and Ireland to my many visits to India and Indochina. Working in mixed media my work combines my love of colour\, texture and mark-making.  I am still exploring and my talk reflects my the creative journey I have been on
