Journey into the Unconventional
A look at Jessica’s textiles journey and career including her work within commercial embroidery and print design – Jessica also discusses her contemporary methods and use of sustainable and waste materials within my artistic practice.
Jessica is a member of Prism Textiles and Art Textiles Made in Britain, 2018-2019 Under 30’s Guild Scholar Award and RAW Talent Award 2017. Jessica works form her home studio in Leeds, West Yorkshire. She teaches her workshop programme to schools, colleges and private organisations across the UK and sell and exhibits her work internationally.

Drawing With Thread
Andrea is a textile artist who draws with thread to produce unique portraits, townscapes and more recently, abstract compositions and images.
In her talk, she will be sharing background information, an explanation of her process with physical and digital examples, followed by a Q&A session

Nikki Parminter
Welcome to the Zoom Room with Nikki Parminter
Nikki will talk about the development of her work from Paper to Wood, then Mixed Media to Textiles. She will show lots of examples and explain her approach to developing and realising a piece of work. She will describe her influences and the practicalities of making pieces on a large scale. She hopes that viewers will be encouraged to ask lots of questions and hopefully be influenced by some of the items she will show.
Nikki trained as a Fine Artist, taught Art for 30 years and took early retirement in 2016. She is a self taught textile artist and has exhibited widely in both solo and joint exhibitions. Nikki has also written a number of articles for magazines and online platforms, supported by Janome for whom she provides Masterclasses.
