Preparing for the exhibition
MEMBERS EXHIBITS
Each member of Textile & Stitch Around Marlborough was invited to exhibit up to 3 pieces of their work. Below are the photos of the exhibits.
WORKSHOP PROJECTS
In addition to all the individual exhibits, members’ also displayed various items from workshops which they had done during the last few years.
Denim Pocket Project
About a year ago, Amanda challenged all members to embroider a denim pocket. The design, choice of stitch and colours was completely open. These were then collected together and Amanda displayed them on a denim skirt and jacket. There were so many that she had to continue the display on a suite case. This is the result which was in pride of place at the exhibition.
Demonstrations
Several members were asked to demonstrate their skills and visitors were encouraged to take part. In addition to the photos below, Deena demonstrated how to make rag spheres.
In addition to the amazing display of members’ work visitors were invited to enjoy cups of tea and coffee with delicious cake and biscuits made by members.
Before leaving the exhibition, visitors were encouraged to write a few words in our book and here are some of the comments.
