Diane Bell – New Heirlooms from Vintage Table Linens & Fabrics

October 5 @ 1:30 pm 4:00 pm

Diane takes old vintage table linens and fabric that you are not sure what to do with and create ‘new heirlooms’ to be loved, seen and cherished. Diane will take you through the steps of how she create new items, from small bags, cushions to wall hangings and quilts.

Although Diane began patchwork/quilting in early 1990’s she never found her real place until in 2018 when she attended a quilting academy class in Bristol with American teacher Kelly Cline  who introduced her to vintage quilting, taking vintage fabrics, and embroidered table linen and creating stunning quilts, and other quilted items. The journey into vintage quilting had started.  I take old linens that have sat in the back of cupboards for years, often made by a family member who has now passed away, not able to part with them but not knowing what to do with them. Those old linens can be reused and made into ‘new’ family heirlooms to be seen and loved for another generation. Diane will have lots of examples to show from wall hangings to table mats, table runners, cushions, bags quilts and bed runner.
