Sue will cover how a quilt is constructed and an overview of quilting & it’s history in both the USA & UK. discussing how quilt designs have changed over the years, and about the quilt collection of the American Museum & Gardens.
Sue is a retired medical biochemist who has sewn since the age of 5. Experienced in hand embroidery, garments, curtains and other household soft furnishings before quilts & their history introduced themselves and she became hooked! She trained as a Quilt Show Judge in the USA. She undertakes research in the history of quilts Since 2006 Sue has been a textile specialist/volunteer at the American Museum and Gardens near Bath. Sue has travelled extensively in the USA and can usually find a quilt shop or show to visit.
