Sketch & Stitch Workshop

Sketch & Stitch Workshop

On Tuesday a group of 14 members met in the hall for a day of sketching, stitch, fun and gossip.

Since forming our Textiles & Stitch Around Marborough group we have tried to include a more varied programme to interest as many members as possible.

This was an “in house” workshop with everybody doing their own thing.  An interesting selection of still life objects were displayed on tables to encourage people to either sketch, sketch and then stitch or just stitch.

We had a wonderful variety. Vases, teapots, flowers, vegetables, a fan, a conch shell and even an old onion shaped wine bottle with interesting colours which I dug up from our garden many years ago.

It was such a successful day we have decided to repeat it next year so that is something to look forward to.

Thanks to Vernice C for sharing her photos.

  1. Yes it was a really enjoyable day – so interesting to see all our different interpretations of similar objects – we are a talented bunch !!!

  2. Even those of us without artistic skill were inspired and learned a lot about interpretation and development of ideas. Thank you to the committee and those who set it up.
